Campaigns Assistant (volunteer)

Campaigns Assistant required, 4 days a week, 10-5pm for 4 months. Please note that due to expenses limitations, applicants must live within the M25. Lunch and London Travel card expenses or the equivalent will be paid.

CONTEXT

Campaigns – UK regional campaigns offices works with a wide range of influentials and target audiences at a local level to promote Oxfam’s campaign messages.The Oxfam campaigns office in London aims to influence regional political structures, building and working with strategic alliances in order to bring around change.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Assisting campaign activities and events for Oxfam’s Climate Change campaign and Heath and Education For All campaign.
- Raising the profile of Oxfam campaigns through political influencing, alliance work and the media.
- Specific projects will focus around the G8 ministerial in July and alliance building work with local authorities, trade unions and women’s organisations on climate change issues.

- Excellent project management skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
- Experience of event management
- Effectively manages own time and works to tight deadlines
- Creativity and the ability to contribute useful and innovative ideas/suggestions
