Job Type:

Campaigns; publicity; supporters; lobbying and public awareness activities; research, writing; key messages; internal and external briefings; development and production of campaign materials. Campaigns for three NGOs: Animal Defenders International (ADI), National Anti-Vivisection Society, Lord Dowding Fund – covers animal experiments, alternatives and ADI broader issues.

Duties include:

  • Execute lobbying and awareness campaigns, as directed.
  • Monitors media; works with PR staff to get messages into media.
  • Produce internal briefings and updates for key staff.
  • Organise and execute activities; co-ordinates input from other staff.
  • Communication of campaign information, internally and externally.
  • Assist in research, writing and production of campaign materials.
  • Liaison with external agencies, e.g. printers, couriers.
  • Administrative duties.
  • General office assistance, as necessary.

Qualifications and Qualities:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent (or relevant experience).
  • At least 2 years working in a role or field (including in a voluntary capacity).
  • Working knowledge of animal rights/protection issues.
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of programs, especially Excel and Word; good internet skills.
  • Good organisation and time-management skills.
  • Excellent English and communication skills – written, oral and presentation.
  • Flexible, positive approach to work; responds well to demanding environment.
  • Team player, supportive of others.
  • Self motivated, with total commitment to the aims and objectives of ADI.
  • Vegetarian preferred.
