Campaigner, Oil, Fixed Term (2 yrs)Global Witness is an international NGO that exposes the corrupt exploitation of natural resources and international trade systems, to drive campaigns that end impunity, resource-linked conflict, and human rights and environmental abuses. Our success is built through on-the-ground investigations and uncompromising advocacy. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Campaigner to join our Uganda Campaign in our London office on a 2 year fixed-term contract (possible extension subject to funding). This will involve developing and implementing advocacy strategies to promote good resource governance in Uganda, and conducting detailed investigations into corruption and mismanagement in Uganda’s oil and mining sectors. It will also include liaising closely with policy makers, Ugandan and international CSOs, foreign donors and others to achieve this goal. Applicants should have proven campaigning experience developing and implementing successful advocacy campaigns and excellent investigative skills. Applicants must have strong verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of the extractive industries, governance and Uganda would be an advantage.
