Description

An exciting and rare opportunity to help conserve and enhance the rich landscape, heritage and biodiversity of the Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.  We're looking for an outstanding individual to develop and implement a business development strategy for the Tamar Valley AONB, supporting the delivery of its five-year management plan and building financial resilience into the AONB operations.  You'll lead the work to identify and deliver key opportunities to add value to the work of the AONB team through partnerships and additional income generation.

The role will also deliver essential support for the new Defra-funded Farming in Protected Landscapes (FIPL) programme, supporting farmers and land managers through agricultural transition over the next 3 years. FIPL is providing substantial new funding for long-term improvements on farms and landholdings with a focus on nature, climate, people and place.

Working with the AONB Manager, you will also play a key role in the review, development and production of the next AONB 5-Year Management Plan, identifying the main opportunities to protect and improve this special place.

Tamar Valley AONB is looking for a committed, energetic, and suitably experienced individual with a sharp focus.  This is a great time to join the AONB, with a newly launched Tamara Landscape Partnership scheme and the Farming in Protected Landscapes programme set to make real and lasting enhancements across the Tamar Valley.

Any questions you may have or if would like to discuss any aspects of this role further, please do not hesitate to contact the Tamar Valley AONB Unit: dcooke@tamarvalley.org.uk

This is a full time position but we are open to flexible working including part time hours and job share.

This is a fixed term contract to April 2024.

Closing Date: 8th October 2021
