EnerNOC has an immediate need for a Business Development Manager, SupplySMART with an understanding of the commodity markets and retail energy.  This position can be based in the New York metro area, Chicago or the Mid-Atlantic.  The Business Development Manager will have in-depth knowledge of electricity and natural gas supply procurement, and will have a demonstrated track record of sales success to commercial, institutional, and industrial customers in the target vertical markets.

The primary responsibility of the Business Development Manager is to generate SupplySMART revenue for the company by developing new business opportunities with existing customers, prospecting for customers, developing new relationships, and ultimately securing commercial business to achieve aggressive annual sales plans.

Responsibilities include:

Business Development

• Build client base through cold calling and prospecting
• Work with other members of the EnerNOC sales team to support expand our relationship with existing customers.
• Schedule and attend on-site client meetings 
• Effectively communicate EnerNOC value through tailored proposals across all products
• Expedite sales cycle; closing with customer execution of EnerNOC consulting agreement

Customer Relations

• Distill complex energy information into basic business terms that enable decision making
• Monitor market and regulatory conditions for further buying opportunities
• Communicate additional product offerings
• Knowledge of competitor offerings 
• Work with our SupplySMART account management team to deliver world-class customer service.


Internal Relations

• Use of EnerNOC’s internal customer relations data base for all company activities
• Tailor daily activities to meet monthly and annual goals
• Detailed knowledge of EnerNOC products/services
• Collaboration with colleagues to “cross-sell” products to existing EnerNOC customers
• Adherence to company code of conduct
