Business Development Manager, New Mexico

My client is a Solar PV manufacturer based in the US that aim to provide low cost, high efficiency technology with the aim of increasing the amount of solar power used in the US. They have developed high efficiency (multi junction) photovoltaic solar cells that has enabled them to convert solar energy more efficiently and capture even more of the available sun energy, making the system more economically advantageous.

Due to the advanced nature of the solar technology the company is growing rapidly and is therefore seeking a solar PV business development manager to generate and solicit proposals, working on site with the technical engineers, sales team, finance managers and operations in each manufacturing line. The candidate must have at least 10 years in Business Development of which 5 years should be in the solar industry, preferably in thin film photovoltaics.

Roles include:

• Working on site to oversee the activities of the business (R&D, manufacturing, sales) and take decisions on new business development
• Oversee financial modelling aspects with and factor in incentives, feed in tariffs and renewable energy credits
• Generate and solicit new proposals, working with solar PV integrators across the US
• Developing new business and entering new areas
• Create new leads and have aggressive sales acumen

Skills and qualifications needed:

• 10 years in business development
• 3-5 years in the solar photovoltaic industry
• A keen interest in the solar PV industry and a passion for the growth of the renewable energy sector
• An engineering background is helpful in order to have a strong understanding of the technology being produced by the company
• The ability to work in the USA (citizenship, work permits etc)
