My client is solar manufacturer that has developed and patented revolutionary technology throughout the world that will increase the effectiveness and maximise energy production. As a start up they require key leaders to join the team in order for them to develop their markets in the US and Mediterranean region

Position Overview:

My client is currently looking for a North American/European business development director to join their head office in San Jose in order to develop and maintain relationships with customers and expand the growth of the company in the USA. You will be reporting directly to the managing director and have a major influence in the growth of the team and its development in the USA and Europe.

Responsibilities

  • ·         With your knowledge of the European and North American solar markets you will be responsible for the development of the company’s growth strategy in North America and Europe
  • ·         With the responsibility to set up to set up sales offices across the Mediterranean region you will develop strong relationships with key investors in the region in order to facilitate the growth of the company in targeted regions
  • ·         You will report directly to the Senior Executives in the US in order to achieve targets and set goals within the region
  • ·         You will be required to developed relationships with new clients, negotiate and carry through the business process with key clients
  • ·         You will need to have that ability to handle high work pressure and meet quarterly revenues and profit targets set by the start up solar company
  • ·         As a team leader you will utilise your proven leadership abilities and the develop team motivational tactics within the renewable energy company
  • ·         You will utilise your skills in project development, project finance and PPA(power purchase agreement) in order to achieve the desired sales results

Education

A relevant degree in either engineering or business management with an MBA a bonus

Core Requirements

  • ·         At least 4-6 years of business development experience
  • ·         At least 2-3 years in the Solar industry
  • ·         Be knowledgeable of the solar market and industry trends, competitors and the competitive landscape, and leading customer acquisition strategies
  • ·         You will ideally have experience in project development and project financing
  • ·         Have experience in developing and executing tactical sales plans
  • ·         You will be required to travel internationally

General requirements

  • ·         Be highly organized and have very effective time management skills
  • ·         Be a demonstrated leader among employees
  • ·         Be highly computer literate
  • ·         Strong negotiating skills and capacity
  • ·         Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • ·         You will be fluent in English with any additional European language skills a bonus

Key Skills:-

Solar PV/module sales and business development experience, team leading, training and strong negotiation skills required
