Business Analyst

The role

We need an analyst to help build a high quality fixed asset register that allows us to promptly confirm the existence of any asset, and enables asset owners to accomplish their responsibilities. This is essential for us to pass future audits by the NAO. The analyst will conduct a reconciliation between the accounting Fixed Asset Register ("FAR") and the FCRM AIMS operational asset register. 

The team

The Financial Management Compliance Team lead work to embed best practise in our Finance function and the wider business. This work helps us improve our accounting and supports the governance statement in our annual report.

Experience/skills required

We are seeking a part qualified accountant who will have prior experience of:

• using Excel to a relatively advanced level;

• learning how to use and master new software – the individual will need to become trained in, and proficient in use of, the AIMS system.

The successful person will need to have:

 

• good interpersonal skills as elements of the role will require interaction with a wide range of busy senior people;

• good standards of audit trail and documentation;

 

• a task focused mentality;

• ability to understand cost and benefit in terms of time spent on individual elements of tasks.

Additional useful information

The role will be based in Horizon House, however there will be a requirement to travel to regional and area offices from time to time. The post is a 12 month role, reflecting the needs of the capital lifecycle project.

 

The post will report to the Financial Accountant in the Compliance Team.
