TFT is an international fast growing and dynamic on-profit organisation that helps companies transform the way they source raw materials, to protect nature and improve people’s lives. We currently have offices in 15 countries including Indonesia, Malaysia, Brazil, India, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, France, UK and North America. We employ more than 250 people worldwide and work with big and small companies such as Nestlé, Grupo Pâo de Açucar, Cargill, and with communities.
Essential Functions
As the most senior executive staff in TFT Brazil, s/he is accountable for coordinating the diversity of projects that TFT is engaged in for Brazil. This includes ensuring that national strategic planning, implementation, evaluation, and staff training are carried out in alignment with TFT global values and strategy. The Country Head directly manages staff and/or multidisciplinary teams and is responsible for creating a work environment that instills organisation values and behaviors that attract and retain the human talent needed for the team success.
In addition, the Country Head represents TFT and works to engage and build alliances with key external stakeholders including government and non-government officials, donors, and other parties needed to advance TFT?s goals for No Deforestation and No Exploitation. S/he collaborates with other TFT offices to ensure that Brazil forms an integral part of achieving organisation-wide goals.
The Country Head works in close cooperation with the Senior Management Team. S/he is responsible for development and implementation of annual budgets, managing the process for annual planning, and monitoring progress.
Most importantly, he/she is an entrepreneurs, self-starter, innovator who leads TFT Brazil into the future.

Responsibilities and scope
The main responsibilities of the Country Head are:
Successfully integrate the Brazil office?s priorities within the overall organisation?s initiatives to guide international companies to be a force for harmony between people and nature. In most cases this includes implementation of responsible sourcing or production policies related to respect for human rights and no deforestation.
Serve as the primary local spokesperson for TFT.
Responsible for effectively engaging with companies, public and non-government officials, government agencies, community and society leaders, and other external stakeholders important to TFT Brazil success.
Leverage TFT Brazil’s intellectual and financial resources to effectively collaborate across TFT to address critical organisation-wide projects and strategies.
Act independently within broad project goals to prioritize tasks in the absence of specific instructions and exercise independent judgment to identify and solve problems.
Ensure project commitments, TFT policies and procedures, financial standards, and legal requirements are met and managed for compliance.
Implement and manage new initiatives that will ensure organisation-wide goals and strategies are achieved.
Bring new projects and financial resources to ensure sustainability of TFT mission in Brazil.
Ensure the effective and efficient management and administration of the Brazil offices operations and resources.
Management of administrative, professional staff, including overseeing training and professional development.
Responsibility in managing financial area and leading annual budget preparation.
Maintain confidentiality of frequently sensitive and emotionally charged information.
Manage projects with several variables, set realistic deadlines, manage a timeline, and ensure accountability.
Participate in complex negotiations.
Travel, work long and flexible hours as needed.
Work is diversified and may not always fall under established practices and guidelines.
Candidate Profile
Minimum qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 7 years’ related experience.
Experience handling human resource and employment issues.
Experience working across stakeholders.
Experience leading teams in related lines of work
Strong organisation and negotiating skills, accuracy, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
Ability to understand and bring solutions for complex processes.
Demonstrated experience using diplomacy and tact to navigate tough negotiations, build strong relationships and motivate staff.
Experience developing and administering budget or equivalent.
Language
English proficiency;
Portuguese proficiency;
Spanish proficiency preferred.
