Salary: £24,128 - £25,590 per annum

Hours: 35 hours per week

The RSPCA, the world’s largest and oldest animal welfare organisation, is looking for a Branch Support Specialist to join the team in the North East of England area for a fixed term period of 6 months. This role involves extensive travel, and some evening and weekend duties as a lone worker. This role is home based. The Society will provide a vehicle, PC, phone/fax mobile phone and basic office equipment.

The main responsibilities of the post include:

• Supporting RSPCA branches in the North Region, all of which are separately registered charities
• Providing support and advice across the region in 4 priority areas – rehoming, neutering, microchipping and welfare assistance
• Advising branches in developing their profile and fundraising potential
• Reviewing volunteer levels
• Advising on income generation, fundraising events, charity shop management and development
• Assisting branches with the creation and monitoring of their branch development plans
• Advising on planning, preparation and management of budgets to ensure prudent use of finances in support of animal welfare work
• To be the link between the National Society, Regional HQ and Branches, ensuring adherence to charity law, branch rules and Society policies and procedures

The successful applicant should have:

• Experience of fundraising, accountancy/finance/budgetary control
• Business administration skills
• Experience of managing people and resources
• Ability to motivate and influence others
• Good communication skills
• Good time management skills
