Description

The Botanist will conduct floristic surveys, including surveys for rare, threatened and endangered plants throughout California and Nevada with a focus on the San Francisco Bay Area. They will also conduct wetland delineations per U.S. Army Corps of Engineers protocols, prepare technical reports, and assist in the preparation of technical studies and sections for California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and/or National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documents.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Floristic Surveys.
  • Weltand Delineations.
  • Preparation of technical sections for CEQA and NEPA documents. 

Qualifications

 
Basic Qualifications: 
  • Bachelors Degree in Botany or Biology.
  • 2+ years of experience in environmental consulting or similar employment.
  • Experience conducting floristic surveys in Northern California.
  • Wetland delineation training
  • Working knowledge of federal and state endagered species act and wetland permitting.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
  • Master degree in Botany or Biology.
  • Certified arborist qualification preferred.
  • Experience with conducting surveys throughout California, Nevada, and Oregon.
  • Exeprience with the preparation and/or implementation of Habitat Conservation Plans.
