The Philanthropy Associate provides support to TPL's Major Gift Team. The primary responsibilities of this position are to provide strong coordination and administrative support among major gift officers. The position reports to the Director of Major Gifts.

Responsibilities

  • Update portfolios as well as support donor strategies for top supporters and prospects.
  • Assist the Director of Major Gifts in tracking move management from identification to the closing of a gift.
  • Arrange strategy calls on major gift supporters and prospects.
  • Schedule monthly Major Gift team conference calls.
  • Submit research requests on major gift supporters and prospects to the Research Team.
  • Write and edit letters to individual supporters.
  • Maintain donor-tracking records on Clearview, TPL's donor database, and generate MGO donor tracking reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • One or two years of experience in development preferred.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong team player.
  • High degree of initiative and organization.
  • Ability to handle deadlines and changing priorities with good judgment.
  • Advanced computer literacy, including data based experience and internet research capabilities. Knowledge of fund raising software a plus.
  • Knowledge of the etiquette principals associated with philanthropy such as correspondence rules, event planning, and social interactions.
  • Interest in and understanding of land conservation preferred.
