Bon Bon Station Reserve Manager 

Location: Bon Bon Station, SA
Hours and conditions: Full time 76 hour fortnight, 5 weeks Annual Leave, Ongoing role

Bush Heritage is a national non-profit organisation that protects Australia’s unique animals, plants and their habitats.  We do this by acquiring and managing land of outstanding conservation value and by working in partnership with other landowners.

The Bon Bon Station Reserve Manager will live on and manage Bon Bon Station, a 218,700 ha property south of Coober Pedy in SA.  They will continue Bush Heritage’s conservation efforts on Bon Bon Station. This will involve:

  • Undertaking natural resource management (NRM) activities including fire, feral animal and weed control, and establishing monitoring points;
  • Facilitating the development of work plans and budgets;
  • Infrastructure development and maintenance including fence maintenance, water infrastructure maintenance and building works;
  • Building relationships with neighbours, land owners, Indigenous communities and mining companies, to promote conservation practices in the broader landscape;
  • Visitor coordination including major donors, research teams, volunteers and staff;
  • Administration of asset database and maintenance schedules, monthly reporting, finances and GIS.

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • Tertiary qualification or extensive relevant experience in NRM including Health Safety & Environment (HSE);
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including a proven ability to establish and maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders;
  • Experience managing budgets, consultants and volunteers;
  • Experience living and working in remote areas.
