Description

Using footprints for individual identification of the endandgered  Black Rhino - make this your project! The aim of this study is to collect footprint images of ten black rhinos freely roaming on a wildlife reserve in Namibia. We would like to establish a database of footprint images for each individual, so that wildlife managers can monitor the population non-invasively. You will be working with local experts on site.

Apply with a short method proposal based on the papers provided. This shows your motivation for the project and gives you theoretical background so that you can start field work straight away after your arrival in Namibia. Note, that this is a volunteer placement.

For more information, please inform yourself on the website! We are looking forward to your applications!
