Post: Biologist with the River Dee Trust (RDT), based on Deeside (Aberdeenshire), who will be responsible for the research and monitoring programmes carried out by the Trust. The post is a challenging and significant one as it will be helping to inform the management of one of Scotland’s major rivers. This will include monitoring changes in fish populations, analysing data to inform restoration programmes and disseminating information to stakeholders. The Biologist will also lead delivery of a work programme to remove invasive species and conduct an educational programme for school children. Location: The post will be based at the RDT River Office at Mill of Dinnet close to Aboyne in the heart of Aberdeenshire. However work will be undertaken throughout the catchment and will involve a mixture of indoor and outdoor work. Us: The RDT is a charitable River Trust whose remit includes the provision of scientific and education services to fisheries and the wider community in the River Dee area, leading to environmental protection and improvement of the associated rivers and riparian habitats. Further information at www.riverdee.org.uk. You: You have a background in a biological or environmental science and have a minimum of two years experience of working in a similar field. You can demonstrate practical research skills and instigate scientifically robust research programmes and are experienced at working in the field and report writing. You have an understanding and experience of rivers and catchment related issues. You have a positive proactive attitude and are confident working alone and in a small team.
