Located in Edmonton Alberta, we are looking for a talented Biologist to support expansion of the Company’s environmental consulting services. Knowledge and experience with wetlands assessments, biophysical assessments, rare plant surveys, wildlife surveys, fish habitat assessments, fish sampling procedures, migratory bird assessments, riparian habitat restoration, constructed wetlands, lake restoration, environmental impact assessments, environmental effects monitoring, compensation plans, stream crossings, project approvals and Provincial and Federal permitting processes would be considered valuable areas of experience. The work will involve a strong commitment to business development and client relations and expanding technical excellence.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Aquatic/Fisheries Biology, Master’s preferred
  • Registered or eligible to register as a P. Biol.
  • 2+ years experience in environmental work in at least two of the following sectors: mining, oil sands, oil and gas, hydroelectric and water supply facilities, transportation, land development, municipal infrastructure
  • A working knowledge of Provincial and Federal Environmental Legislation
  • Proven ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals
  • Strong interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Demonstrated report writing skills
  • Track record as an effective team player
  • Availability to travel within Canada and Internationally and to work flexible hours as project requirements dictate

 

Field work at various sites, some more remote, will be required. The successful applicant must be physically fit and able to carry out field duties.
