Biofuels Researcher

Introduction:

This is two to three month intern position with American Bird Conservancy (ABC) in Washington, DC. ABC is looking for an intern to help us research how planted prairie cellulosic biofuels could help bird conservation. The intern will work to identify farmers and biofuel plants that could participate in a pilot program and carry out research and develop feasibility calculations that will be required to develop a program plan.

There is a small stipend for this position.

Primary Duties:

• Research and map potential project locations.

• Contact potential partners to seek collaborative opportunities.

Position Requirements:

• An outgoing, positive, persuasive manner and predisposition for collaboration, but with ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

• Study in a related discipline such as biology, energy production, or agriculture.

• Excellent writing, presentation, and organizational skills.

• Willingness to travel if needed.

The position will be based in the Greater Washington, DC/Northern Virginia area.
