Biodiversity Information Assistant

Permanent post, salary £21,442 pa

We are looking for a new member of our data management team based at our city centre office in Peterborough. The team work on a wide range of conservation related IT projects including the NBN Gateway (www.searchNBN.net), the development of the National Biodiversity Network (www.nbn.org.uk) and its global equivalent (www.gbif.org). The team are also responsible for updating parts of the JNCC website eg the protected area pages. You will enjoy a varied programme of work within the team providing assistance to these and other projects.

To join us you will need a good understanding of ecology and a flair for managing and analysing biodiversity data. You should be organised and capable of planning and phasing work and be able to work and communicate effectively with others. Experience in database design, programming or GI systems would be an advantage.
