Biodiversity Executive will support the Biodiversity Manager in managing and facilitating the (Biodiversity and High Conservation Value Working Group (BHCVWG) in the implementation of the biodiversity programme. The Biodiversity Executive is the point of contact for RSPO members to demonstrate compliance on submission liability disclosure, Land Use Change analysis (LUCA) and compensation plan. The Executive will manage external service providers in regards to LUCA and Compensation Plan, as necessary. This will include reviewing the relevant documents submitted, arranging meetings and related logistics for Compensation Panel; reporting on meetings to the Secretariat/ Technical Director; monitoring progress of each compensation plan and remedial actions taken.
Point of contact for compensation related issues in the RSPO for internal and external stakeholders.
To receive all compensation documents, reviewing, summarizing and making arrangement for BHCVWG and Compensation Panel to discuss and approve; as well as in keeping all these in RSPO database (Salesforce).
Ensure the completeness of the submissions made (Disclosure, LUC Analysis and Compensation Plan) and progress of follow-up.
To ensure functional link is establish with Certification Unit in RPSO on matters related to certification and compliance in LUCA and/or Compensation matters.
Secure and manage service provider for compensation related activities.
Communicate with members and facilitate/coordinate advocacy on compensation related issues.
Report on compensation activities, discussions and decisions of the Compensation Panel, share updates with the Secretariat and BHCVWG..
Assist Biodiversity Manager in the management and operation of BHCVWG and relevant Task Forces/ panel established.
Provide inputs to the Secretariat/TD and BHCVWG on emerging issues, events and research relevant to oil palm sector for their consideration.
Apart from the duties stated above, Compensation Executive is required to perform any duty or duties reasonably assigned by the Technical Director.
University Degree in science and biology
1 - 3 years’ experience in relevant fields
Knowledge and understanding of HCV, LUCA
Familiar with sustainability of biodiversity in palm oil.
Good communications skills.
Good team player able to works with different nationalities.
Proficiency in English with good writing and oral skill. |
