The Biodiversity Database Specialist works with representatives of TPWD and NatureServe to reconcile the information between the TNHS database and the Texas Natural Diversity Database. The Biodiversity Database Specialist also manages and maintains conservation databases and provides relational database and GIS technical support for other to Conservancy staff and to natural heritage database partners. Functions may include compiling and assembling biodiversity and management information from various sources. This may also include one or more of the following functions:
- Collects and manages natural heritage data for Texas endangered, threatened, and special tracked plant and animal species and works with a key partner (Texas Parks and Wildlife Department) to reconcile natural diversity databases
- Performs data analysis; designs and produces complex queries and professional reports
- Processes spatial and other relational data sets derived from cartographic and tabular source material
- Builds, maintains, and populates databases and non-digital files
- Produces maps and other graphic products and reports
