Bahamas Waste Limited, Biodiesel Coordinator.

Bahamas Waste Limited (BWL) is the largest private waste management company in The Bahamas. We service more than 1,000 homes and businesses in New Providence and Paradise Island, and supply containers and regular collection service to hundreds of construction sites. Our primary business involves the leasing of compactors and containers and routine emptying and disposal of waste. In New Providence, our fleet of more than 50 packer and roll-off trucks and other support vehicles are out in the community seven days a week, starting in the early morning hours.

Bahamas Waste is expanding into waste vegetable oil collection and is completing construction of a 1 million gallon/year processing facility for making ASTM D-6752 quality biodiesel. Bahamas Waste is actively seeking a Plant Startup Coordinator. The Biodiesel Plant Startup Coordinator will oversee the implementation of biodiesel produced on site into the fleet of BWL trucks.

This temporary position has an immediate start date with a maximum of six month contract period. Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience.

Primary duties will include:

•Active liaison between BWL maintenance department and biodiesel plant production manager to ensure fuel meets all required engine manufacturer specifications

•Establish protocols of fuel dispensing within BWL fleet with biodiesel

•Establish protocols of blending biodiesel and diesel #2 for use in BWL fleet

•Establish plan for implantation of biodiesel into BWL existing fleet

•Establish documentation procedures that biodiesel produced meets ATSM fuel standards

•Establishing production schedules for processing waste vegetable oil into biodiesel

•Establishing protocols for ordering materials used in biodiesel production

•Creating reports for Climate Core which allows CO2 mitigation credits to be issued

•Ensuring quality control of fuel after manufacturing

•Managing fuel blending

•Collaborating with BWL, the Cape Eleuthera Institute and Wisconsin Biofuels LLC as pioneer biodiesel plant operators in The Bahamas

•Help plan major public relations event around plant opening

Requirements

•Technical degree in diesel engine repair or 3 years experience in heavy diesel engine maintenance

•Bachelors degree, preferably in Math/Science/Engineering

•Basic computer skills (Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office)

•Desire to be part of a pioneering industry within The Bahamas and be a team leader

•History of creating and executing on projects, considers his/herself a self-starter

•Excellent communication and mechanical problem-solving skills

•Proven history of problem solving
