To service and ongoing contract we require an experienced Assurance Manager based in south Hampshire.  This opportunity sits within the contract assurance function and will provide technical support to the DE&S contract.  DE&S equips and supports the UK’s Armed Forces for current and future operations. It acquires and supports through life, including disposal, equipment and services ranging from ships, aircraft, vehicles and weapons to electronic systems and information systems. Reporting directly into the Contract Director this is a key position, helping the contract to achieve and adhere to its Assurance objectives.  You will lead the assurance function providing relevant professional assurance expertise to managers in support of organic growth with existing customers and also bids for new business.  You will have gained extensive experience in quality, health and safety or environmental management and risk management, preferably within the marine of defense sectors within both a MoD and commercial background.  A NEBOSH diploma and being a qualified auditor would be extremely advantageous. The core accountabilities for this role are:
  • Regular reports to the contract manager on assurance functions
  • Line management
  • Implement and maintain assurance management systems
  • Ensure effective financial management
  • Develop and maintain a network of relationships with key stakeholders
  • To be recognised as a role model and functional expert, providing coaching and mentoring for managers and employees
