Job Title: Associate Washington Representative

Department: Conservation

Location: Washington, D.C.

Reports to: Director, Lands Protection Program

Context: Carries out the strategies and activities for assigned legislative campaigns and activities with the Lands Team related to our Resilient Habitat campaign. Participates in the development of strategies and priorities.

Scope: The Associate Washington Representative collaborates with the Sr. Washington DC Director and volunteer leaders who work on Resilient Habitats, concentrating on climate change and forest policy at the Sierra Club.

The Associate Washington Representative helps to design and implement campaign strategies for the Club's Resilient Habitats campaign, focusing on climate-smart management of our forests. In addition to forest policy work, the Associate Washington Representative will also lead our efforts surrounding the Obama Administration's America's Great Outdoors campaign, and our work around the federal appropriations process.

The Associate Washington Rep will creates materials for use in public policy and outreach and education campaigns, and represents the Sierra Club to government officials, the media, and other organizations. Travels occasionally to lobby, participate in Chapter and Group activities, and coordinate and train volunteer leaders.
