We are currently looking for an Associate Sustainability Consultant to provide sustainability information in support of sales and marketing efforts, preparing LEED documentation to support our ISO 14001 program.  The position is based in our Holland, MI facility.

 

The Role

In this role, you will facilitate with field sales members and our dealer partners in regard to questions and requests for information related to LEED and product sustainability.  Additionally, you will conduct ISO 14001 internal audits and assist with development of continuous improvement targets for maintenance of ISO certification.  You will assist environmental engineering with plant requirements for regulatory compliance.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering; {OR} two years secondary education in Business Administration, Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering plus four years experience in a professional position leading sustainability initiatives; {OR} eight years experience in a professional position leading sustainability initiatives. 

Other Requirements

  • In depth understanding of sustainability concepts in manufacturing, green building, and/or sustainable design.
  • In depth involvement with at least one environmental or social responsibility sub-field such as Life Cycle Assessment, LEED, Social Accountability (SA)8000, carbon accounting or toxicity assessment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate with a wide range of technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to travel away from corporate offices, including internationally up to 15% of the time. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to maintain and build internal corporate sustainability website considered a plus.
