UNEP-WCMC is a not-for-profit organisation devoted to promoting, for public benefit, the conservation, protection, enhancement and support of nature and natural resources worldwide. This position will provide administrative and coordination support input to two capacity development, science and development projects: the Development Corridors Partnership (DCP) and Trade, Development and the Environment (TRADE) Hub project – both funded by the Global Challenges Research Programme of the UK Government.

DCP focusses on the impacts of development corridors in Africa (Kenya and Tanzania) and together with partners in UK Universities and China, collaborates with NGOs and Universities in Africa. The TRADE Hub is a programme coordinated by UN Environment World Conservation Monitoring Centre (UNEP-WCMC) that aims to enhance positive outcomes, and reduce impacts on nature and people, of local to global trade in wildlife, wild meat, and commodity trades around the world. It links to researchers in the UK, Brazil, Cameroon, Gabon, Republic of Congo and Democratic Republic of Congo, Tanzania, Indonesia, China and several other countries. There is also significant interaction with companies and finance institutions, trade rules bodies, scientific modellers and visualisation and technology experts.

We are seeking an Associate Project Officer to support the work of the Project Management Team for these complex projects working across multiple countries. If you are looking for a rewarding and challenging post where you can impress us with your planning and communication skills, we want to hear from you. Please complete our application form and send it together with your CV and a short covering letter through the link below by 21st September 2020.  UNEP-WCMC is an equal opportunities employer.
