Description

The Marine Programme is offering a 12 month Fixed Term Associate Programme Officer role. The purpose of the role is to support the delivery of projects focused on ocean-related spatial and numeric data analysis, including statistical analysis.

The post holder will need to be flexible and adaptable to variable demands and be willing to learn new skills and processes. The key areas of responsibility of this post include:

·         Undertaking spatial and numeric analysis (including statistical analysis) of ocean data as required for project development and delivery.

·         On the basis of spatial and numeric ocean data analysis produce concise and focused reports.

·         Support the technical delivery and reporting associated with existing projects.

·         Provide high-quality technical support to partners inside and outside UNEP-WCMC.

·         Represent UNEP-WCMC at relevant scientific conferences, technical workshops and other specialist meetings both in the UK and overseas.

We are looking for a conscientious and motivated individual. Ideally you will have a degree or post-graduate degree in a field related to spatial and numeric data analysis. A willingness to learn and apply new analytical approaches would be very welcome.  Extensive marine knowledge is not essential.  In addition to training and development opportunities, we offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including generous pension contributions.
