Job Title: Associate Program Representative, Global Population and Environment Program

Department: Conservation

Reports To: Senior Washington Representative, Global Population and Environment Program

Context: Carries out assigned strategies and activities for Global Population and Environment Program. Participates in the development of strategies and priorities.

Scope: The Associate Program Representative helps to carry out one or more of the program’s initiatives. Assists in development of initiative plans. Participates in activities and services provided by the national program. Helps to coordinate volunteer leaders, national, state and local conservation staff.

Knowledge & Skills:

-- B.A./B.S. degree in Gender Studies, Environmental Studies, Political Science or a closely related field.

-- 1-2 years’ experience in the environmental or population field that includes research and organizing programs, press relations and public speaking.

-- Good written and oral communication skills

-- Prior experience and ability writing training and information materials.

-- Prior experience and knowledge of the legislative process.

-- Demonstrated ability and effectiveness working with volunteers.
