The LEED Associate is an integral member of the LEED Department that provides administrative and programmatic support in creating and maintaining the international components of the LEED rating system. The job tasks will center on improvement, maintenance and outreach related to the international use of LEED and its supporting tools. The LEED Associate will serve as a primary member of the LEED International projects and will work on a diverse set of projects across the LEED department. Projects could be related to any international aspect of the LEED rating system and support our market sectors including Commercial Real Estate, Residential, Government and Neighborhood Development.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Provide general assistance for the LEED rating system and its supporting tools related to international use
  • Track and organize revisions to the international LEED rating system content
  • Assist with the research and development of case studies, slide content information, web pages, fact sheets, presentations, toolkits and other information related to LEED’s use internationally
  • Provide assistance on data collection and analysis
  • Assist with research and analysis on the costs and benefits of green building design, construction and operations on an international scale
  • Work with committees, subject matter experts and staff to develop, implement, improve and maintain the international aspects of LEED and its supporting tools
  • Work on marketing and education related content related to LEED’s use internationally
  • Support the development and posting of LEED Addenda and other LEED technical material for international projects
  • Assist with LEED Online updates and LEED customer service as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Training Requirements/Preferences

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a related building industry, or environmental discipline
  • LEED Green Associate status required, LEED Accredited Professional status preferred

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years relevant professional experience preferred
  • General understanding of high performance green building design, interior design, construction and operations
  • Technical understanding of and experience achieving compliance with the LEED commercial rating system, specifically LEED for New Construction, LEED for Commercial Interiors and LEED for Core and Shell
  • Familiarity with the complexities faced by international LEED projects
  • Knowledge of and experience working in the building industry, real estate, environmental policy, or a sustainable business discipline, or equivalent educational experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills including demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Suite and database management
  • Detail-oriented, able to prioritize and multi-task
