USGBC is currently seeking an organized and detail-oriented professional with excellent research and writing skills to serve as LEED Associate in the LEED Department.

The LEED Associate is an entry-level role that will serve as an integral member of the LEED Department that provides administrative and programmatic support in creating and maintaining the LEED rating systems and initiatives. The job tasks will center on improvement, maintenance and outreach related to LEED and its supporting tools. The LEED Associate will serve as a team member to a diverse set of projects across the LEED department. Projects could be related to any aspect of the LEED rating system and support our market sectors including Commercial Real Estate, Residential, Government and Neighborhood Development.

Specific Responsibilities Include

  • Provide general assistance for team managing LEED rating systems and supporting tools
  • Support for the education, market and outreach needs of the LEED department
  • Assist with the research and development of case studies, slide content information, web pages, fact sheets, presentations, toolkits and other information related to LEED
  • Work with committees, subject matter experts and staff to develop, implement, improve and maintain LEED and its supporting tools
  • Assist with summary of and response to public comments
  • Track and organize revisions to LEED rating system content
  • Provide assistance on data collection and analysis
  • Assist with research and analysis on the costs and benefits of green building design, construction and operations
  • Provide administrative support for the LEED Credit Pilot Library
  • Support the development and posting of LEED Addenda and other LEED technical material
  • Assist with LEED Online updates and LEED customer service as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Training Requirements/Preferences

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in a related field such as urban studies, architecture, business/real estate or environmental science

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year relevant professional experience preferred

Other Required Skills and Qualifications

  • LEED Accredited Professional status preferred
  • General understanding of high performance green building design, construction and operations
  • Knowledge of and experience working in the building industry, real estate, environmental policy, or a sustainable business discipline, or equivalent educational experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills including demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Suite and database management
  • Detail-oriented, able to prioritize and multi-task
  • Ability to manage competing priorities
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
  • Team player with outstanding interpersonal skills
