Associate Editor

Ducks Unlimited, the continent’s leader in wetland and waterfowl conservation is seeking an Associate Editor in our Magazine department at National Headquarters in Memphis, TN. The associate editor will research and write columns and feature articles on a variety of topics related to waterfowl, wetlands conservation, and waterfowl hunting for Ducks Unlimited magazine. This individual will also be directly involved in all phases of the editorial process, including copy editing, proofreading, writing titles and captions, and generating creative story ideas.

The ideal candidate will combine a strong interest in waterfowl hunting, waterfowl behavior and biology, and wetlands conservation with proven interviewing and writing skills. Some travel is required, and the associate editor will be expected to represent Ducks Unlimited in a professional manner while on assignment. Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree preferably in Journalism or English. Experience in print journalism is preferred, and basic photographic skills are helpful.
