Position Summary

In collaboration with the Division Director of Philanthropy, the Associate Director of Philanthropy (ADoP) is responsible for the oversight, planning and implementation of a comprehensive philanthropy program withinNew Orleans that secures significant financial resources from individuals to support The Trust for Public Land's (TPL's) conservation goals.

The primary focus is on identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major gift and high mid-level prospects, including annual, pledged and planned gifts.  Responsibilities include prospect identification, prospect tracking, cultivation and solicitation procedures, direct solicitations, closing gifts, proposal writing and development, and major donor gift recognition. 

This position reports to the Division Director of Philanthropy and is responsible for all designated donors, related programmatic or project campaigns and activities, and collaborating with the State Director on the Advisory Board and other volunteers.  This position is focused on managing relationships with donors who can support local and statewide efforts, and coordinates the state’s efforts as part of TPL's special multi-year fundraising campaign. The position is responsible for motivating and coordinating the efforts of a multi-disciplinary staff, including institutional giving staff, marketing staff, other fundraisers and administration.

The position works with Division Director of Philanthropy to establish fundraising goals to support an annual state program budget and is accountable for these goals.  In addition, s/he will focuses on long-range strategic priorities, advances TPL's philanthropy goals, and communicates a broad vision to others.
