ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

•Work with the Eastern Division marketing director and chapter leadership to develop and implement media strategies that maximize the Conservancy’s presence in targeted markets.
•Establish and maintain strong relationships with Conservancy staff in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, including the state director, and leadership in the conservation, policy and philanthropy areas.  This will include regular travel around the state to project areas and Conservancy offices.
•Develop and maintain strong media contacts around the state, including print, broadcast and digital outlets.  Initiate story placement and respond to media inquiries.
•Advise MRC leadership and state chapter staff on crisis prevention and management.

•Research, write and distribute wide variety of media materials, such as Op-eds, news releases, fact sheets and web articles as directed in the chapter’s marketing plans.
•Assist chapter staff in meeting conservation, fundraising and policy objectives by developing key messages and strategies that ensure these messages are delivered to target stakeholders.
•Provide media spokesperson training and consultation to chapter staff.
•Coordinate activities with other MRC and marketing and communications staff and identify opportunities for coordination of activities among MRC staff, program partners and the Conservancy’s Worldwide Office.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
•Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or related field and minimum 7 years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 
•Experience supervising and managing staff and teams.
•Experience in client and account management.
•Experience writing, editing, proofreading, and with oral communications.
•Experience with all MS Office suites functions and video editing software.
•Knowledge of using social media to drive media coverage and audience engagement.
