USGBC is currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented professional with experience in event logistics and a high degree of personal initiative to serve as the Associate, Chapter Training & Events – a junior-level role responsible for executing logistics for chapter-related remote and in-person trainings and events, including Greenbuild events, national and regional leadership retreats, in-person coaching, webcasts and others as needed. These duties will support implementation of Chapters team objectives and specifically the Chapter Leader Development Program. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE Training Program: - Help carry out the strategic and work plans for the Chapter Leader Development Program
- Assist the with the following aspects of the Chapter Leader Development program:
- Development of new training programs, identifying outside training programs and improving existing programs
- Creation of annual chapter leader development plan for chapters, including researching and developing content
- Identify opportunities for Chapters team professional development
- Tracking of training and events expenses and work plan deliverables
- Evaluating effectiveness of Program
- Identify opportunities to use technology to improve delivery of USGBC’s chapter education and training programs
Training Logistics: - Provide logistical support for all on-site and off-site chapter leader development trainings, including webcasts, Chapter Forum at Greenbuild, Chapter Leader Retreat, etc.
- Schedule, communicate and convene webcasts hosted by the Chapters Department, which may include in-house and external experts
- Work with Chapter Resources Coordinator to maintain content related to trainings on usgbc.org and the Chapter Leader Extranet
- Liaise with Conferences & Events Department about venue selection, food and beverage, and A/V needs for events
- Coordinate and track travel and expenses for event attendees
- Process purchase orders for chapter trainings and events as needed
- Provide on-site coordination for events to ensure high-quality execution
- Perform other administrative support duties related to event planning as needed
EDUCATION & TRAINING REQUIREMENTS/PREFERENCES - Bachelor’s degree required
EXPERIENCE REQUIRMENTS - Minimum 2 years experience in event planning and working in a dynamic office environment (preferably with a non-profit)
OTHER REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS - Excellent project coordination, organizational, and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent communications skills (both verbal and written)
- Ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities, adhere to timelines
- Ability to handle a broad range of stakeholders with grace and diplomacy
- Strong sense of personal responsibility and accountability for delivering high quality work
- Proficient in all necessary MS Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project
- Knowledge of/proficiency in Web site, social media and e-mail/html applications a plus
- Adaptability to new technologies and ability to learn new software applications
- Team player with outstanding interpersonal skills
