Description

EMBARQ is seeking an Associate for its India Program. The successful candidate will be based in Bangalore, and will report to the Project Manager – Urban Development and Accessibility.

Major Responsibilities:
• Under supervision of the Project Manager, undertake tasks related to developing publications in the area of Urban Development and Accessibility
• Participate actively in EMBARQ India’s ambitious and innovative growth strategy
• Build and maintain strong network and relationships with key partnering institutions, stakeholders and colleagues throughout India
• Organize, facilitate and develop content as well as attend events that are relevant to EMBARQ’s India program and the EMBARQ network on a need basis

Qualifications:
• At least 2 years of work experience post master’s degree
• Post Graduate/Master’s degree in Urban or Regional Planning, Public Policy, Development Studies or other relevant disciplines
• Prior experience in integration of transport, land use, urban design and accessibility is a plus
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. Knowledge of Hindi and Kannada will be preferred
• Good computer skills in: Autocad, Arc GIS, Adobe Suite, Sketch Up, Microsoft Office

Competencies:
• Ability to understand the interconnections between urban design and planning and development studies; and flexibility to work in different types of projects;
• Be willing to work in start-up environments, and on projects that have ambiguity;
• Commitment to EMBARQ’s mission as well as WRI’s mission and values
• Passion for and commitment to sustainable transport and urban development

Salary and Benefits:
Competitive, depending on qualifications and experience
