Climate change is now widely accepted as the largest long-term environmental problem facing humanity and its major cause is carbon dioxide emissions from energy use. A not-for-profit organisation formed in 1992, we've rapidly become a leader in the fight to address climate change. Our aim is to promote sustainable energy, while reducing consumption and carbon dioxide emissions in the domestic and transport sectors in Scotland and the UK. The Energy Saving Trust's work in Scotland is funded by the Scottish Government.

Assistant Transport Manager, Scotland
£25,000 to £29,000 depending on experience + excellent benefits

From our offices in Edinburgh, we manage a range of transport programmes on behalf of the Scottish Government - these aim to reduce CO2 emissions and vehicle pollutants affecting air quality. In this role you will help encourage Scottish organisations to engage in a range of Smarter choices such as travel plans, green fleet reviews, eco-driving and benchmarking of emissions from the public sector fleet. You will monitor progress, correlate data and help manage individual projects that help Scottish organisations develop effective sustainable transport practices.

Qualified to graduate level in a relevant discipline, ideally you'll be able to demonstrate considerable knowledge of transport and its environmental impact - and will understand how to measure carbon footprints. You'll also have a strong track record of delivering successful projects, and exemplary relationship management skills. Finally, you should be computer literate, with a good working knowledge of Outlook, Word and Excel.
