The Desert Research Institute is accepting applications for an Assistant Research Professor in Fire Sciences. The position will support applied research, applications development, program development, and science delivery within the program for Climate, Ecosystem and Fire Applications (CEFA) in Reno, NV. Responsibilities include CEFA project and program development; proposal, paper and report preparation; applied research; decision-support tool and applications development; close interaction with fire and land management agencies; collaboration with federal, academic and international physical and social scientists. A combination of technical and interpersonal communication skills is required. On the ground fire experience is important to understand agency actions, activities and policies; research to operations, and science delivery. The selected individual will act as the Deputy Director of CEFA.
