Are you someone wishing to make their career in conservation, with some good conservation knowledge, some experience and lots of energy and enthusiasm for our wildlife?

We have an exciting opportunity at Abberton Reservoir for someone starting their career in conservation. The successful applicant will work 30 hours per week across 7 days.

Responsibilities include:

Supporting the Ranger in prioritising, co-ordinating and ensuring efficient management of the Nature Reserve. Being a crucial part of the Visitor Centre Team. Creating, supporting and running an engaging visitor offer that promotes Essex Wildlife Trust’s great work. Managing a team of volunteers, ensuring safe working practices and high levels of site and equipment maintenance are kept.

Essex Wildlife Trust is the county’s leading conservation charity.  It has more than 37,000 members, manages and protects over 8,400 acres of land on 87 nature reserves and 2 nature parks and runs 11 visitor centres.  The aim of Essex Wildlife Trust is to Protect Wildlife for the Future and for the People of Essex.  It is supported financially by members, local businesses and grant making organisations.  It is one of the largest of the 46 county wildlife trusts that work together throughout the British Isles as The Wildlife Trusts.
