Are you someone wishing to make their career in conservation, with some good conservation knowledge, some experience and lots of energy and enthusiasm for our wildlife? Are you an engaging individual with a passion for protecting wildlife, conservation management and able to communicate well with people about EWT’s work? If the answer is yes then this could be the role for you.

Essex Wildlife Trust have an exciting opportunity at Thurrock Thameside Nature Park for 2 individuals starting their career in conservation. The successful applicants will work 22.5 hours between Monday-Sunday, with alternating weekend working as part of a weekly rota.

This role is a Fixed Term Contract for two years and there are two positions avaliable.

Responsibilities include:

  • Undertaking, co-ordinating and overseeing the reserve management of Thurrock Thameside Nature Park.
  • Being part of the Visitor Centre team supporting site delivery.
  • Managing a team of volunteers to ensure reserves tasks are completed to a high standard.
  • Ensuring safe working practices.
  • Ensure visitors are engaged with the wildlife of the site, through the delivery of a varied programme of nature events.
  • Provide an inspiring site for visitors, enabling them to connect with nature and the natural environment.
  • Maintaining a robust programme of species monitoring and surveying to inform and influence future site management.

Working Hours: 22.5 hours per week
