Juwi solar Inc. (JSI) based in Boulder, Colorado, and majority-owned by Germany-based juwi Holding AG is a developer and turnkey EPC contractor of solar power plants throughout North America.  JSI’s main focus is the development, construction and operation of utility-scale power plants (1MW or larger).

JSI has established an aggressive target for bringing solar power on line over the next several years and is looking to fill the Assistant Project Manager position to support the company’s growth.  The Assistant Project Manager’s responsibilities will be assigned on a project-by-project basis by the Project Manager according to the needs of the project, but will be focused on compliance with environmental, technical, and contractual requirements.  In addition, the Assistant Project Manager will be responsible for assuring project documentation is properly created and maintained.

JSI is looking for an experienced, motivated professional who has been successful in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment with a strong emphasis on high-quality deliverables. A successful candidate will have excellent written and oral communication skills. The position will report to the Director of Project Management.

Principal Position Description:

  • Monitor the project’s guiding documents to ensure it meets obligations on a timely basis; maintain communication with the Project Manager on all contractual items
  • Become familiar with all project construction and equipment supply documents
  • Draft monthly reports for projects’ utility and owner counterparties
  • Prepare weekly agendas for project team meetings
  • Maintain effective communications with Project Managers
  • Ensure documentation is complete for all areas of responsibility
  • Identify and ensure Company complies with all notification procedures within project agreements (PPA, IA, EPC, Subcontractor, Vendors)
  • Review project Gantt charts to assure that planned activities coordinate with project agreements
  • Post NTP manage landowner relationships, understand lease requirements and provide avenue for landowner communication to the Company
  • Assist Project Management team in conducting internal project audits in the form of contract, design and construction review

Position Requirements:

  • Accredited university degree (engineering preferred) and 3 plus years applicable experience
  • Positive attitude and dependable
  • Willingness to travel
  • Willingness to work in both an office setting and an outdoor environment on a construction site
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Respect for safety practices and quality on a job site
  • Ability to plan, coordinate and analyze situations with technical, legal and business facets
  • Demonstrated efficiency in managing multi-disciplinary teams
  • Can work autonomously, taking initiative and organizing work in an independent manner
  • Team player, stress-resistant

Preferred Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience with capital-intensive, technical projects (e.g. utility, oil & gas, chemical, water and wastewater)
  • Experienced understanding of engineering design
  • Experience with any of the following: EPC contracts, subcontracts, supply contracts and land leases
  • Familiarity with the quality assurance requirements necessary in a construction environment
