We are looking for a highly motivated and technically experienced Assistant Programme Officer to work in the Protected Areas Programme and support the development, management and integration of WCMC’s suite of projects related to measuring and improving the effectiveness of Protected Areas.

Supporting the Senior Programme Officer, you will ensure that the Protected Areas projects are managed and delivered to the highest level of quality, and on time and budget. Using your understanding of the complex issues surrounding protected areas information and management you will manage relationships with a large variety of stakeholders and partners.

We will provide you with the challenge of working on high profile conservation projects, where your work really makes a difference to the field of conservation in an area aligned to our strategic aims and broader global initiatives. Using your communication, presentation and interpersonal skills you will provide advice and support to internal and external users and have the opportunity to represent UNEP-WCMC at relevant conferences and workshops to promote the Centre’s Protected Areas projects. In addition to training and development opportunities, we offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including generous pension contributions.

If you are looking for a rewarding and challenging post where you can impress us with your technical expertise and teamwork, we want to hear from you. Please complete a WCMC application form and send it with a CV and a short covering letter to recruitment@unep-wcmc.org by 10th April 2014.

Please note that this is not a UN post and we can only accept applications from those eligible to work in the UK.
