We are looking for an enthusiastic, conscientious and motivated Assistant Programme Officer to join our Conventions and Policy Support Programme. Through strong internal relations with other programmes, the programme supports, facilitates and develops the Centre’s comprehensive engagement with intergovernmental processes and their implementation at all levels.

Working closely with programme colleagues and liaising with potential relevant contributors, you will be responsible for undertaking research and analysis on policy-related issues, including in particular those relating to Multilateral Environmental Agreements and their implementation, as well as preparing draft documents and associated materials relating to the areas of research. Therefore, familiarity with at least one of the biodiversity-related conventions at national or global level is essential, as is demonstrated experience of researching information and presenting it in a coherent and succinct manner.

In this varied role, you will also be responsible for providing logistical and technical support in planning, implementing and following up on the Programme’s missions and workshops, so experience in supporting project management and coordinating logistics would be an advantage, however is not essential.

This post will provide you with the opportunity to strengthen and contribute your expertise working alongside experienced, ambitious and results orientated colleagues. In addition to training and development opportunities, we also offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including generous pension contributions.

If you are looking for a rewarding and challenging post within a group of like minded people working at the science-policy interface, we want to hear from you. Please complete a WCMC application form and submit it with a CV and a short covering letter through the link below.

Please note that this is not a UN post and we can only accept applications from those eligible to work in the UK.
