Description |
We are looking for a highly motivated and technically experienced Assistant Programme Officer to work in the Marine Programme to support development, management and analysis projects relating to WCMC’s significant global marine and coastal data holdings. Supporting the Marine Programme, you will ensure that spatial data projects are managed and delivered to the highest standards; and on time and budget. Using your understanding of the complex issues surrounding spatial data collation, you will manage relationships with a large variety of stakeholders and partners. You will focus on improving the body of knowledge on biodiversity-relevant marine and coastal data, and undertaking analyses and assessments, in support of the Programme's project portfolio. We will provide you with the challenge of working on high profile conservation projects, where your work really makes a difference to the field of conservation in an area aligned to our strategic aims and broader global initiatives. Using your communication, presentation and interpersonal skills you will provide advice and support to internal and external users and have the opportunity to represent UNEP-WCMC at relevant conferences and workshops to promote the Centre’s marine projects. In addition to training and development opportunities, we offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including generous pension contributions. If you are looking for a rewarding and challenging post where you can impress us with your technical expertise and teamwork, we want to hear from you. Please complete a WCMC application form and send it with a CV and a short covering letter to recruitment@unep-wcmc.org by 26th Sep 2014. Please note that this is not a UN post and we can only accept applications from those eligible to work in the UK. |
