Description

Assistant Programme Managers (x 2 vacancies)

circa £23,000 Cardiff

The Programme

The Energy Saving Trust is an impartial and independent, UK-based organisation focussed on helping people to use energy more efficiently, conserve water, reduce waste and make renewable energy sources more accessible. We are one of the UK’s foremost organisations leading people to act on climate change.

We are working with the Welsh Assembly Government (WAG) to deliver the Community Scale Renewable Energy Generation Programme (CSREG) that will support community owned renewable energy generation projects through the provision of funding and support.

Assistant Programme Manager - CSREG External Operations

You will use your existing knowledge of renewable energy systems to support the Programme Manger in delivering the external facing aspects of the programme. This includes the management of contracts to ensure that they are delivered on time and on budget; the development of support resources and networks for Welsh communities; the secretariat services for the CSREG steering group; and communications with stakeholders.

Assistant Programme Manager - CSREG Internal Operations

You will need to take a highly organised approach to support the Programme Manager with the delivery of all internal aspects of the programme including the production of documents and reports for WAG and the Energy Saving Trust; the development of monitoring, evaluation and IT systems; and the maintenance of the web pages. You will also be responsible for managing the grant assessment process; managing contractors; implementing environmental and quality management systems; and leading on all Welsh language scheme activities.

For both roles, we are looking for graduates with experience of contract management in a business, environmental or energy-related field. You will have excellent organisational skills together with the ability to deal with challenging situations with sensitivity and diplomacy. Fluency in Welsh would be an advantage.
