Specific Minimum Qualifications and Expertise
- Degree or equivalent professional qualification(s)
- An excellent track record of people and process management skills
- Proven expertise of working with bespoke IT systems and numerical information
- Excellent customer service and organisational skills
- Proven ability to work well in a team and independently
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- An interest in environmental issues or legislation desirable
Purpose
To assist with Ofgem E-Serve’s administration of renewable schemes on behalf of Government departments. Such schemes will include the Renewables Obligation (RO), Climate Change Levy (CCL), Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin (REGO) and Feed-in Tariff (FIT).
Key Outputs and Deliverables
- Manage, monitor and report on processes concerning the administration of renewable schemes
- Make recommendations to the Head of Renewables and CHP as to the eligibility of renewable generating stations
- Provide eligibility guidance to key stakeholders under the different schemes
- Manage all complaints that are escalated from the administration team or within Ofgem’s formal complaints process
- Help to improve access to information on the schemes by reviewing and updating Ofgem’s administrative procedures, published guidance, statistical information and liaising with appropriate Government departments
- Provide advice to internal IT teams on procedural requirements and legislative changes and conduct IT testing as required
- Line management responsibility for up to two team administrators
Key Stakeholder Relationships
- External – renewable generators, energy supply companies, agents representing generators, trade associations and Government departments
- Internal – IT Helpdesk, technical, legal, New Schemes Development and Environmental Policy
Key Accountabilities
- Managing internal processes to ensure that the team’s KPI targets are met
- Line management of up to two team administrators
- Making recommendations on the accreditation of generators
- Reporting to senior management on a regular basis as to the team’s performance
