Specific Minimum Qualifications and Expertise

  • Relevant technical degree or equivalent qualification
  • Excellent interpretation, numerical and analytical skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and capable of managing shifting priorities
  • Proven expertise of working with MS office and bespoke IT systems
  • Interest in renewable generation and sustainability (desirable)

Purpose

To assist with Ofgem’s administration of several renewable schemes, with particular focus on fuelled generating stations and sustainability reporting

Key Outputs and Deliverables

  • Checking data submissions and renewable certificates for fuelled stations prior to issue
  • Providing advice to stakeholders on the sustainability reporting aspects of the RO Orders and checking submissions of sustainability information
  • Assessing fuel measurement and sampling procedures against the legislative requirements of the RO, the CCL and the REGO schemes
  • Fielding fuelling inquiries from Government, industry and public stakeholder groups
  • Contributing to and updating sustainability guidance document as necessary
  • Conducting the scoping and testing for a number of Renewables and CHP Register IT builds related to the fuelling aspects of the system

Key Stakeholder Relationships

External – renewable generators, fuel suppliers, trade associations and DECC
Internal – New Scheme Development, legal and IT

Key Accountabilities

  • Making recommendations on the issuance of renewable certificates
  • Making recommendations on the acceptability of generator’s fuel measurement and sampling procedures
  • Making recommendations on the acceptability of the sustainable nature of fuels used by generators
