Assistant Grazing Manager

NWT manages over sixty nature reserves across Norfolk, covering an area of over 4000 ha.  Grazing is an essential management tool on many of the nature reserves and NWT manages its own flock of sheep, and herds of cattle and ponies, alongside working with local graziers.

• The chance to work across a range of landscapes and habitats. The NWT grazing operations span the entirety of Norfolk, and the successful candidate will have a varied working environment from coastal dunes, through mixed heath to broadland fen.
• An NWT works vehicle for you to use to travel to and between sites.
• 20 days annual leave per annum plus statutory holidays, rising incrementally to 25 days per annum. It is also customary for an additional 3 days to be given over Christmas and New Year.
• Pension: employer contributes 7% of salary equivalent after completion of trial period, increasing to 8% after 3 years of continuous service

In return we are looking for a person with:

• Experience of livestock management and husbandry, including in a conservation grazing and wildlife context. 
• A current full driving licence is essential, with experience of towing livestock (B+E licence).
• Knowledge of Basic Payment Scheme, Agri-environment schemes, and
• Experience in the use of computers for word-processing and spreadsheets
