Climate change is now widely accepted as the largest long-term environmental problem facing humanity and its major cause is carbon dioxide emissions from energy use. A not-for-profit organisation formed in 1992, we've rapidly become a leading figure in the fight to address climate change. Our aim is to promote
sustainable energy, while reducing consumption and carbon emissions in the domestic and transport sectors throughout the UK.

This is a newly created role for an Assistant Manager to work within the Evaluation team on a 12 month fixed term / secondment.  The purpose of the post will be to assist in the management of evaluations and the building of new approaches to corporate performance management.  This is being undertaken in order to ensure that evaluations and corporate monitoring activities are better integrated to provide a more holistic view of how the Energy Saving Trust is performing.  Furthermore, the role has been created to ensure that the planned programme of evaluations, including the Green Homes project, can be achieved.  

The main responsibilities of this role will therefore be to:

·        Undertake day to day management of the evaluation of specific programmes to assess the impact of sustainable energy activities;
·        Contribute to the development and production of corporate and funder reports;
·        Manage research contractors and associated project budgets;
·        Manage the storage of evaluation data from relevant sources;
·        Analyse evaluation results and contribute to the development of analysis frameworks as directed by the managers;
·        Manage the corporate reporting system with the Activity Management System (AMS) and contribute to its development (in conjunction with other AEM position).

To be successful in this role you will have:

·        Excellent understanding of measurement of performance of programmes, projects and services.
·        Understanding of market research techniques;
·        An understanding of undertaking research, including questionnaire specifications and research interviews;
·        Experience of undertaking detailed analysis of quantitative and qualitative data
·        Good project management skills;
·        Advanced MS excel spreadsheet skills;
·        Experience working in a sustainable energy field would be an advantage;
·        A good general education, to degree level.
