Environment
In 2010 Mott MacDonald was voted the 8th best big company in Britain to work for, better than any of our competitors. Mott MacDonald is an employee-owned company, and this is core to Mott MacDonald’s principals of ownership and valuing people.

Mott MacDonald has been significantly enhancing its ecological consultancy capabilities, and the ecology team now has a wide diversity of biodiversity skills and competencies. The team of 22 experienced ecologists has excellent knowledge and practical experience in delivering projects which integrate the importance of the ecological impacts and mitigations.

The team has experience in surveying and evaluating the range of UK habitats, as well as holding licenses to work with protected species. Mott MacDonald has core skills in botany, aquatic invertebrates, aquatic macrophytes, amphibians, mammals and reptiles, with a strong track record of working in the water, power and highway industries.

We offer a complete ecological assessment service to facilitate project delivery through meeting regulatory requirements, pushing forward best practice from project inception through to construction, operation and decommissioning both in the UK and overseas.

We understand that the collection of appropriate data and analysis of that data form the foundation for future decision-making. Our approach is to identify key ecological constraints during the early optioneering stages of a plan or project.
