The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) Foundation is a UK-based charity dedicated to establishing and protecting the rights of all animals.
Like humans, animals are capable of suffering and have interests in leading their own lives; therefore, they are not ours to use – for experimentation, food, clothing, entertainment or any other reason. PETA and our affiliates around the world educate policymakers and the public about cruelty to animals and promote an understanding of the right of all animals to be treated with respect.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
Work with the executive vice president to plan PETA's overall campaign strategy, specifically for our vegan, skins, vivisection, and Animal Birth Control (ABC) campaigns
Work with the executive vice president and other staff members to brainstorm new campaign ideas
Look at the big picture and assess the effectiveness of our demonstrations and campaigns at least biweekly through "step-back" time, and report on thoughts, ideas, and conclusions
Oversee and mentor the assistant manager of the Campaigns Department
Work with the assistant manager to thoroughly train new campaigners on how to plan, coordinate, and assess a campaign
Work with the assistant manager to ensure that campaigners are setting and meeting goals and deadlines
Conduct media training for new campaigners
Work with the assistant manager and campaigners to prepare agendas and timelines, schedule tours and other demonstrations, and brainstorm new ideas
Liaise with the Marketing, Youth Campaigns (peta2), Corporate Affairs, and Communications departments to coordinate campaigns
Liaise with PETA's European affiliates to ensure that they are kept informed about campaign plans
Conduct media interviews on a wide range of topics
In coordination with the assistant manager, conduct yearly evaluations of staff members
Travel when necessary to train campaigners, assist with demonstrations, and conduct media interviews
Perform other duties assigned by the executive vice president
Qualifications:
Extensive activist and campaigning experience
A minimum of three years of supervisory experience
Five years of employment with PETA or equivalent experience
Previous public-speaking experience
Proven exceptional written and oral communication skills
Ability to deal with others (e.g. the media, activists, the general public) in a calm and rational manner
Thorough knowledge of animal rights issues
Supportive position vis-à-vis PETA's philosophy and the ability to professionally advocate PETA's positions on issues
