The Assistant Analyst will help ensure that all of its inbound and outbound data streams are aligned with the company’s strategic business goals and tactical operations objectives. The Assistant Analyst reports to either, the Data Integrity, Data Operations, or Data Production Manager, who serve on the Data Management leadership team. This is an entry-level role on the Data Management team: it requires formal collaboration and co-ownership of certain initiatives and projects with other members of the Data Management team; and may require the same with colleagues on other teams within Recyclebank.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Administering and managing data processing tasks, as assigned and defined by a Data Manager, on a scheduled and ad-hoc basis.
  • Troubleshooting data discrepancies and ensuring data quality
  • Conducting research and collecting data which will help in continual product development that will meet client needs
  • Analysis of information using various statistical methods, trying to see patterns in data
  • Conceptualization of data and sharing this knowledge through effective presentation of the data output with the rest of your team
  • Generating and providing timely and accurate reports

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Quickly source information, gain knowledge and resolve complex problems.
  • Strong communications, verbal and written, e.g. email, skills.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • BA/BS (min.) in Business Administration, Information Systems or other coursework and subject(s) requiring the analysis and application of quantitative and qualitative data; Associates Degree and/or Certification programs and relevant years of work experience may serve as an acceptable substitute.
  • 1-3 years data-centric work experience in large and/or small organizations
  • Advanced to expert-level ability with MS Windows and Office tools, with the primary focus being Excel experience using and creating macro’s and pivot tables. Experience working with data-base extracts and reports from CRM, ecommerce and other transaction-based applications. Additional experience using business intelligence and reporting tools, especially Business Objects and Crystal Reports is advantageous and preferred.
